As our domestic ministry comes to an end, we head back to our training camp for a short debrief. In just a few days we will be head to Greece, but before I get ahead of myself let me tell you about this past week.

We went to Camp Adrian, 3 hours south of our training camp, and did a lot of renovations. They are turning it into a new Adventures Relief base! I got to work on the dinning hall all week. We built a wall, did some demo, worked on another wall, painted, put up trim, and had a lot of fun together.

I was having a conversation with some of the staff about how we were only going to see a little part of the whole project, and it reminded me of 1 Corinthians 3:6,

"[6] I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow." For me it was like we were just a small part of God's plan for this camp. I may never be back to Camp Adrian, but I know God is going to use it in so many ways.

I had the privilege of leading morning devos each morning, and the topic of the first one was rejoicing through suffering. Little did we know that throughout the week we were going to have to do just that. For starters, many of us got sick at different times during the week ( I got sick on Monday, and im still sick) a couple people ended up having to go to urgent care because of it. Then one of the girls cabins had bed bugs, and most of them got bit. That was not fun. I ended up getting blood blisters the size of half dollars on both feet while playing soccer. Finally there were also a couple injuries, but through it all everyone has kept a good attitude, and a grateful heart.

We are headed back to training camp for 3 days of rest and recovery, then on Wednesday we will be off to Greece! I am supper excited to go overseas to do ministry! God is Good!

Romans 5:3-5 ESV

[3] Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, [4] and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, [5] and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

James 1:2-4 ESV

[2] Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, [3] for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. [4] And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

1 Peter 1:6-7 ESV

[6] In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, [7] so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
